On Water: Where is the Drain?

- 1. A brief overview of the California water system – past, present, future

- 2. To learn about our water supply, the impact on wildlife, and the relationship to food supply

- 3. To learn about necessary changes for a healthy long-term supply

- 4. To learn action options and make a reasonable personal action plan:
a) Reduce/reuse water at home/work
- b) Replace appliances, etc
- c) Introduce grey water system
OBJECTIVES:
Participants will be able to
- Describe the shortcomings and challenges of current models, such as potential loss of drinking water, chemicals in drinking water, and hazard to health
- Identify available alternatives that overcome these challenges: reduction of consumption, and educated consumption to remove hazardous chemicals from system.
- Collaborate to set goals for pursuing alternatives individually and as a group
